first let me say that I have been thinking on this beach trip for sometime but I could never bring myself to plan it out fully. I often feel that beach trips should be spontaneous. Due to my lack of planing no one went with me, which is just fine my me.
I leave at 2:30pm. I had been waiting for Jordan until 1:20, but he was no up for it since I could not get more people. I waxed and waned on the idea until 2:30, when I got enough inspiration from Facebook to set off. I drove for a long time, like 1 hour 45 minutes. I get to my favorite free beach set up my chair and apply sunscreen. I read for a while to let the sunscreen absorb.
The water was cold and the sun was hidden, swimming was not in the cards. I waded up to mid calf in the 70 degree water. then I read until the rain was imminent. It became heavier as I reached the car. my total time at the beach was less than the drive one way.
I did call upon my brothers home on my way back. He treated me to dinner when I took him to get Subway I witnessed a rainbow. after dinner we played Scurvy Pirates of the Spanish Main. it is a card game where you use the cards to make the movie with the most points. My brother started strong with a large cast of men. Michelle had a modest cast of women. None of us had a setting or much in the way of props. Lewis continued to dominate until I got one good attack in on him. At this point Michelle gained much power and surpassed him. I was more or less out for the count so I took it upon myself to make the battle as even as possible. I delivered a devastating attack of Ghost sailors on a Phantom vessel (combo bonus) and then I tripled it with a card called a tropical island greeting. Michelle had a card to block this attack but I had another to preempt that card. so I defeated her greatest character. this set her and my brother at the same total. Lewis won with a deftly played hand two turns later. Michelle had a card that could have stopped him but she did not play it in time.
after this game ended I returned home and meet up with Jordan. So concludes my summer break.

I was in a hotel room watching Eva with Sara. we were conversing. The show was weird the only way I could discern that it was Eva was the characters. The actual events in the show were strange school festival events with military flair. anyways, then Jordan shows up and he is all hyped about some party he was at yesterday. Their comes a knock at our door, an nice-looking Indian woman delivers a box to Sara. and then she waits. In the box is a plastic Dinosaur skeleton which you attach skin and muscle, in the form of clay. Indian woman makes some comment about the gift and Sara and her converse. Josh shows up and He and Jordan talk about the party they both when to yesterday. At this point Sara is expressing her love of Vitamin water to the Indian woman, who then leaves. In the show all of the high schoolers from Eva(except Rei) are in oddly shaped hot air balloons. And the dream come to an end with all of my friend talking and laughing.
This dream reflect things that I feel I have lost. I find it more and more difficult to share things I care about. Also lets look at the Player, Jordan and Josh, Longest known friends who I have good contact with. Sara good friend that will be lost in not too long. I think my dream wanted to capture a moment like this. I have been seeking these moments were no one is upset or fighting, and everyone is having fun. I am glad I can now remember such events. |

| Got me thinking |

My mind slips into a Mage(the Ascension) mindset very easily. I see a concept that someone else created or reviled a new aspect about the concept, and I think how does that fit into a World of Darkness setting. I know to non-gamers it sounds geeky.
I started watching a new anime, Futakoi Alternative, and it has a underlying premise that the town were it is set produces a unnatural number of identical twins. From the short amount of the show I have watched (3 episodes of 13) I think that the twins are not in fact different people but opposing halves of the same soul. Now that is not all the interesting a concept, some twins may feel that way but it becomes interesting to me in the context of Mage the Ascension. I run the setting were avatars reincarnate. now if an avatar was to become attached to the soul of the identical twins, may would share it. That leads off in many interesting directions.

I always come back here when my mind truely fails at finding things to do. I feel that it is the nature of my Journal. But atleast I am more positive than I was earlier this evening. I don't understand my moods. I used to be able to point to cause and effect. but my feeling of the day are not finding the box that my mind can close them into.
But other than this nagging Boredom / loneliness My life is going well. I had a great time at Anime South in the beginning of this year. My Comrades Jason and Kris were in great spirits for the event.
Kris is now dating the sister of Chris Turner, Connie. They had met before and at Anime South they hit it off. They Started dating a week or 2 after the Con. This coincides with Kris moving in to Josh's apartment. Josh said that Kris seems happy to not have to deal with his crazy family every day.
since the start of the semester Role playing has picked up. Jordan started a Game, Josh got his Changeling game going and I am about finished with my Mage game. I am still working on an ending of value but I feel that I work best under pressure. This is the most Role playing that has happened in recent memory.
I have also had 2 computer repair jobs. Both are simple matters of maintenance. My Manager Allan had issues with his computer booting then shutting down immediately after windows loaded. I first suspected the Graphics card, but the I just started it in safe mode and turned off all non-essential startup programs. Then I put in a Wireless G card for him. I charged him $20 for 2 hours of work, it took longer but at some points I was doing other things while uninstalling programs. I also found that he has a issue with Norton anti-virus. I did not uninstall because it because he would lose the remaining time of his licensed updates. I also worked for my great uncle Wayne. He had several minor issues like his sound would not work, and his scanner did not have the scanning software installed. It took one hour to Diagnose and fix these several issues, I charged him $10 he paid me twenty. I was not happy about this. I do not want to feel like I am ripping people off, but he valued my serve at that amount and he wants to call on me again. My mother put this in perspective, he needs to feel that he is paying me a good wage so he will not feel like it is imposing on me to request my aid again. Also it would have been much more if he had called a computer service. As I responsible person I put the money from Uncle Wayne towards my Cell bill, when Allan Pays me on the morrow I will pay the rest of the bill.
On I different note I picked the Second Season of Maria-sama up again. Damn is it good. The well developed characters and political power plays are so much fun. Well written but simple. Who thought that a series with out opposition could be so fun. What I really love about the show in have the characters are working for the benefit of the other members of the group. It reminds me of my own self appointed position. But my dealing were never so nice. And that power has waned.

It was just on my mind leaving my car. I love the character of Jane. She gives me Hope that when Computer get so intelligent they will appreciate us, and Love us. Card's depiction of A.I. like Heinlein's Makes me feel less afraid of the future of robotics. My dislike and Fear of A.I. stopped me in part from pursuing Programing as a Major. Only Heinlein's characters played it right and got their A.I. to love those they server. ( Possible Ender Series Spoilers. ) |

My heroes are not men of morality. My heroes are few. I can think of Two people that I would think of as my 'Heroes'. Gendo Ikari and Andrew Wiggin. I do not value Superheros, and I do not value compassion over effectiveness. Batman is the superhero that I can relate to in the slightest. But I think as his character must know that his work is temporary, he fights a fight that is unending. Both of my other 'Heroes', if such a word suits, are men that accomplish goals. One accomplished his goal but found no fulfillment, the other got what he desire and barely failed at his goal. These men are very different. But they both fought for Humanity. Humanity approved of Neither. I thought of this as I listened to Speaker for the Dead. When Ender came on scene I cheered his name. I thought Back to my time watching Eva, I spent much time Enjoying Gendo's ruthless nature, and manipulation he used to strive for his goal. My heroes are barely heroes at all, this is the only way I can associate them with myself. I hate when fictional character are hampered by morality when in an immoral setting. Letting an opponent live only to return, allowing a corrupt man to stay in power because Killing is immoral. These are examples that Gall me. Fight in such a way that your opponent will never challenge you again, This does not mean to kill just remove his power. Make him look so weak that no one would ever follow him again. If it comes to Violence, end his ability to retaliate. Never be merciful to those that will use your mercy to destroy you.
P.S. once I was asked by a website to record my childhood hero as a security question. I spent many minutes thinking of an answer. I could think of none. Gendo Ikari was the closed person or character I could associate with Hero. I did not listen to the Ender's series until college. |

| Finding meaning in problem solving |

For a while I have had issues of Running Call of duty 4 on my machine, so when I got Red alert 3 I was not surprised that it did not run at first. I installed Red alert 3, I watched the opening Videos with Tim Curry. they were fun. when it got to the menus they would bug out and I would have to wait for them to come back. They would unfreeze after a time but all the buttons would be artifactie and only show oddly shaped blocks for text. then I tried to play the tutorials, it hard crashed. No Ctrl Alt Del, no alt f4 just fail. so I rebooted and tried again. same problem. eventually I got Alt tab to work if I had a window open.
So after fiddling for a while I desided to talk to a technical support. This will at least waste EA's money and at best solve my problem. The call took 2 tries to get a person. he went over about checking my compability and asked if I had windows updated. After that he requested that I check to see if my system drivers were upto date, He said that he would send me an Email with how to do this. I never got the email, I think that I failed to communicate it correctly. No bother I know how to do this my self. Then I look on the back of game box to double check required stats. It notes that only supports 32 bit Vista.
So that was my problem.
I back up my data on Sara's old HD and proceed to download and create a disk of 64 bit XP. I had to wait several days for the MSDNA to come back online. After the disk was ready I used it to format my main drive and install XP 64 bit.
It was hard to return to the older windows. I found that Vista had a better system for moving through directories, and had tighter security checks for programs. After getting vista up to speed I installed Red alert 3 again and tried to play the Tutorials. it ran for a while, but then it would do the same thing COD 4 would do.

then
"your graphic driver had an error in nvlddmkm.sys but it has recovered." would popup
other time after that it would just crash to the desktop.
so now I have them same problem that I had before. graphic driver problems |

Tonight I will present a program that manages fiction bank accounts and amortizes loans(the act of paying the same fee for the life of the loan but the percent of interest and principle paid changes based on certain rates). This would normally be a good and exciting thing but my back has be screwed up since Monday. I think that I pulled the Muscles in both shoulders when I was bored at work. Monday it was so bad I called in sick. It hurt every time my spine was not in a normal positions. This meant that bending over was out. anyway so It still hurts to a lesser degree and I need to leave for a study session on sociology.. Our teach told us Wednesday that we have a test Monday. It was like a bomb in my lap. this mans tests are killer. I did get an A on the last one but I studied my ass off. now I feel like I have no time. I work both Friday and Saturday. and Maybe Sunday. But my life other wise has been good, except that I have very limited social interaction. like once Monday, and then maybe tomorrow. but otherwise I never see people. Exhales. I have things but I can not say them. Not until the world ends. |

| Anime Weekend Atlanta 2008 |

While watching T.V. with my parents I feel that I should write in this journal of pits and pieces of my life.
But let me start with something fun. Anime Weekend Atlanta. It happened in September, the 20 to 22.
The first day was defined with early school, a long drive, and convention antics. I left school, went to Jordan's house picked up the boys and left Mobile.
We traveled for many hour, stopping for gas in Mobile and then for Cheese steak in Auburn. Josh took over driving After we consumed the sandwiches. In Atlanta I directed Josh to the hotel where we stayed. The problem was that we had approached the Hotel from the wrong direction and had to reorient our car to finally enter its parking lot. We quickly dropped our stuff and were off to the con. After asking a number of Con reps we found the registration counter, got our badges and want about the Con. Jordan left us to seek out his friends, abruptly. Tucker followed him, this was a sort of ironic punishment. Because you ditched all of us you are cursed with the least of us.
Tucker is the least social adept member of the group, and he believes that it is his right to put us in social situation were we did not feel comfortable. He told me about the fact that he would approach random cosplayer and force an interaction. He believed that Jordan, and I were too timid, and should just talk to them. I like to wait and ask them when I feel that they are not busy. I have a sense for that and so does Jordan, but Tucker did not see what we were doing.
While Jordan and Tucker were else where, Josh, Kris and I Hung out and got a feel for the Con. The night was blur to me until we got back to the car. THE CAR!!! Kris got tired so we were going to drop him off at the hotel. The car will not start.... This had happened before, but not this existent. For like 10 minutes we try to start the car. we look under the hood thinking that it was a loose battery connection. Not luck, finally I tell Kris and Josh to get out of the car and not touch it. Then I tried a few more times and VROOOM!! it started. We took Kris home and returned to Con when Tucker was ready to leave. Jordan said that he would walk home later. It was like 2:20 am when I took Tucker and Josh to Josh's Aunt's house in Cumming(45 mins outside of Atlanta). Getting their are at 3:00 am. While driving I forgot that my car was set for Central time so I felt that I had an hour to get home before 3:00am but in fact I had no Time. so I spent the night their.
I woke up early, meet his aunt, and was on my marry way alone. Josh and Tucker were coming to the con with his aunt(who I forgotten the name). I bought gas for over $4, and due to gas rationing I could only get 10 gallons. I returned to the hotel room, got a shower and clothes change then left for breakfast with Kris and Jordan. we got to the con around 11:00 am. I went to the Deal's room then meet up Josh and his aunt. we went to the AMV contest Panel where we watched the winning videos. Afterward we visited the video rooms searching for something good the watch. Finding Clannad, I could tell within 4 minutes that it was based on a H game(just found out that it was just ecchi). we came in after a few episodes had already played, so we were all lost. anyway later we watched the first episode of the Tsubasa OVA, which was set in the middle of the series. so we were lost again, in a field of longlimbed fantasy characters.
This day I did take good pictures of cosplayers. here are my top picks.

later that day Josh's aunt treated us to lunch, which was very nice of her. Later that day I spent more time in the dealers room, got a few figurines. Eventually I meet up with Jordan for a while after that Later in the day I took a nap at the hotel, returned for the night events.
When I returned I spent time watching Shoujo with Tucker, and I made a short visit to the AMV dance with Josh. At one point Josh and I were in an AMV panel about AMV creators from Europe. The videos demoed were fairly cool but the panelist were very good and insightful. Jordan left for the Rave, which was the big event of Saturday night. I got good pictures of rave goers like...
Most of these were taken late in the night. after I came out of the [ H/AMV Hell divided by 0 / AMV Iron Chef with added H] panel. AMV HELL /0 was entertaining but very Yaoi favored...to the male crowds dissatisfaction. Before any Videos were show the lead Panelist/MC asked if anyone was a H virgin. One woman from a group of women stood up, at the group urging. that got a round of applause and good-natured yelling, but then The MC asked if anyone was a Yaoi virgin and this one guy took off towards the door, shaking his head. He did return to his seat when the MC threatened to Sodomize him with various pieces of audio equipment and assured him that Yaoi would not be overwhelmingly terrible. Also the room was full of B-tard so the comments were /b/ focused but highly entertaining. I was pobably too vocal but it was late and I was in to it. also when I left a got the Mamimi cosplayer's picture I showed above. after that I wonder the late night con floor. at some point I found Jordan after he came out of the rave, and we returned to the hotel.
Sunday promised to be a long day, but was not that bad. First Jordan and I went to an Evangelion Panel that was very interesting. The speaker was quite knowledgeable and informed me of the fact that dark horse will be translating another eva manga based on a spin off game. see here . after that we saw the next panel that was Industry representative from Bandai, Dark Horse and Funimation. The spoke of the down turn of the current anime market and how influential Cartoon Network is in anime sales. I got the last question, I asked if they were planning on make more speed releases like they did with Gurren Lagann. They said that is was a possibility by would be difficult. They also mentioned that Parallel Dubbing was an option but not currently practical. after that I shopped, as did Jordan. I bought An evangelion action figure, a Rei figurine, a Full Metal Panic Second Raid Wall scroll, and little custard/ sweet bean paste jellies. During this Time Josh got board of shopping and left with Kris and Tucker to see a local RPG store. They reported good selection of White wolf. I also got several print of high quality fan art from a few artist.

Before leaving Atlanta we retrieved Josh and Tucker from Cumming. Where upon Josh's Aunt treated all of us to a fine Itailian Restaurant. After that Kind send off we headed for Mobile. We stopped for gas a few time, once we found none in a town. The drive was long but I was full from the Fine Italian and ate little during the 6 hour drive home. Our trip ended with me dropping people at Jordan's home. |

I wish I could have just one topic for this entry but I could not decide on one. The topic I want to cover are

1. Beach, this happened right before school started. I make a quick post and then called people the next morning. I got Jordan, Michael, and Sara. Jordan had to be persuaded by Sara and I had convince Michael that it was unnecessary to take his car( He thought that we were going to Dauphin Island). We meet at Sara's house after I picked her up from the dorm. Since we were all hungery we stopped at chick a fil at the Malibus Mall. This is when I relized that It was going to be an awesome trip. Everyone was in a good mood, no one we worrying about school or moving out. It was just fun. After a long drive of up beat chatter, we finally arrived at the free beach I visit. It is down past the Gulf Shores state park beach. we changed and moved for the beach. People leaving the beach warned us of Jelly Fish. This was deeply unfortonate but I thought that they might be their. the later in the season more change of Jellyfish. We set up the chairs and then Sara took a few pictures.

After Jordan got out of the sand he was sad to find out that their were no private showers.
Even though we did not swim much, do to jelly fish, it was an enjoyable, pleasant trip.
2.A while ago Jordan said that for his birthday he would get his mother to pay for a room for Anime Weekend Atlanta. Since I had not heard much about plans For AWA I figured that it had be swept under the table for some future year. Last weekend I remember that it is happening soon and Jordan tells me that he is still good to go. But we only have a week before early registration ends. Jordan and I talk to the people at my mage game and get a group together. I then convince my father to pay for the other half of the room. Mother and Him have been taking trips with out me, so I asked if he would cover it like he covers Mother's excursions. Now It is down to the wire Jordan and Kris have not Yet purchased Tickets, but That should all be remedied on the morrow.
3.I read the Google chrome comic and found it insightful. And I stumbled on a story about how many people felt condescending. Also I have a few /b/ parodies found below.

4. Matt Pritchard Brother of Brian Pritchard has missed Visual Basic class twice...I normally would not care, but He is in my group. and the group has a project Due Thursday. HE NEEDS TO BE IN CLASS. he has now missed 1/3 of the total class period. |
